The Louisiana State Patrol is investigating an accident that closed the eastbound and westbound lanes of La.28. The accident involved a tanker-truck that was carrying molten sulfur and a truck that was carrying logs. The truck accident resulted in one fatality and another individual being critically injured.
Such an accident demonstrates that just about anything can occur on the Louisiana roadways. One truck carrying sulfur and another carrying logs coinciding with a major collision and it's not difficult to imagine that many more individuals could have been killed.
Truck drivers are often overworked and can suffer from fatigue while driving. Truck drivers often are in a rush to finish a delivery and may face demands to complete too many different deliveries during the same day. Such drivers often work long hours and can be on the road during rush hour or during the middle of the night. Often the vehicles being driven by the truck drivers were not designed to navigate the tight corners that may be presented on our highways and roads.
This accident will require extensive investigation. There are attorneys that can make sense of conflicting stories, and who have the resources to assist in investigating such accidents as the one that happened here. Law firms often have access to individuals and resources to make determinations as to how fast vehicles were traveling at the time of a collision, which vehicle had the right of way, etc. After an investigation, such attorneys will usually have a good idea as to how such an accident occurred.
